Unfortunately, this is the case with most headsets that connect to the computer via Bluetooth when they are also used as a microphone. The reason this happens is that, in order to conserve bandwidth, Bluetooth headsets lower the audio quality when transmitting voice. If your headset does this, the only way to stop it is by choosing a different default microphone so that the headset is only used as an audio output, not an input.
In order to change your input device on your computer:
-Click on the Windows logo on the bottom left, type 'Sound settings' and select the option with the same name at the top.
-Under the Input tab, select any device that is not your Bluetooth headset from the drop-down menu under 'Choose your input device'.
Disabling hands-free telephony can help. To disable the hands-free telephony, go to Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound and finally Devices and Printers. From the list, right click on your bluetooth headphones, go to Properties, then the Services tab, and disable Hands-free telephony.
You may also have to disable Bluetooth Audio Gateway. To disable the Bluetooth Audio Gateway, type Services on your Windows Search. Go there, locate the service called Bluetooth Audio Gateway, right click it and stop it. Then, go into Properties for the same service and switch Startup type to Disabled.
Please keep in mind that in order to continue being able to speak using voice chat in-game, you must own another device that can be used as a microphone and select that one as the default input device.
After doing that, please make sure that Steam uses your default audio input device. Go to Steam's settings, navigate to the Voice tab and make sure that the Voice Input Device at the top is set to Default, or the device that you want to use.
